Nurse Nancy No More

It has happened.  I quit.  It was time.  I have worked as a nurse for 36 years, off and on, all part-time, usually only one or two days a week.  This last job at Wallace College lasted 16 years as a Clinical Nursing Instructor.  In the hospital I mainly made sure the students did a good job taking care of all their patients, giving the right medications, doing procedures right like changing dressings, iv medications, injections, putting in catheters, ng tubes, etc. Fun stuff like that.  I mainly worked on Orthopedics, Pediatrics and Labor/Delivery, since those were my specialties. Pediatrics was mainly where I worked before coming to Wallace. Out at the school I checked off students to make sure they could do the procedures on the mannequins before attempting them on the living ones : ) I had quite a few laughs doing this. It was a great job.

How does the saying go "I'm free. I'm free at last."

Summertime

Lots has happened this summer after the girls graduated! We have gone to the beach, swam in the pool, had cousins come, go to the lake, and watch fireworks!

I got to go to a field trip with Dallas to the Florida Natural History Museum. The outdoors part was definitely the best but a little toasty.

Dallas was in the Youth Symphony Orchestra and we got to go
and listen to her play.  It was wonderful and she even
designed the program!

Dave and Nathan went on a Father/Son camp out. Which if you know how much Dave loves camping.....

We got a new swing set!

We always love it when we can see Brandon and Alvhild!

We were so glad that Courtney and Carl made the effort to drive from Texas! We went to the beach with them and also to the lake!
