Peanut Festival & new aquisitions

I think we went to the Peanut Festival more this year than ever before.  Mainly because of the guy there that carves things out of wood. Our weakness.....

Here Dave is by his new face carved in wood and.....
Here I am by our new chair : )
I think we now have our fill of wood carvings.

Lucky I guess

So driving on my street a couple of weeks ago, I had this horrible sound and thought I had a blow out.  I stopped my car and checked all the tires and all seemed fine but occasionally when I would turn left or accelerate, I would get this terrible grating sound.  Long story short - I ran over this!

Can you see this metal edging blade that is resting on my tire thingie? Apparently it was lying in the road and when I ran over it, it flipped up into my tire well and gouged out a hole in my tire but didn't flatten it.  I had to get a new tire but no one could figure out what was making the noise - not the Toyota dealership twice, or Sam's club who put on the tire, or the Lexus dealership until I went there a second time (Montgomery).  Can you see it hiding in my tire well?
Here is a closer look at it because I know you want to see it
It tore into the metal body of the car

So I went to a body shop to see if they could just put some filler in it so water wouldn't get in it.
Ohhh nooooo. The heat filling the hole would catch the back seat fibers on fire so they have to take out my back seat, take off my side panel, so they can weld it and paint it so it won't rust.  What a pain for running over a 'nail' in the road.
It could have been worse. It could have caused me to wreck my car, or flown out and caused more damage. I guess I am lucky.

So Dave was asked to do a skit, along with Drs. Willis & Marcella, for a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.  The other day he came home looking like this...

Apparently they did a little ballet dance.  I will post when I can get my hands on it : )

Also we took our terrific sister missionaries out to dinner to Hunt's and one of the missionaries hadn't tried them before.  Can you guess which one?

I also served on jury duty this past week.  Very interesting. Got picked for a trial too and after 2 days of testimony, they guy pleaded guilty - which we were all going to say he was anyway. This is my big paycheck for 1 day (I got four of these). Woohoo.

Nathan & Lindsey Speirs' Wedding

It was so fun to get together for the wedding of our nephew Nathan & his new wife Lindsey! Lindsey's grandfather married them in the Jordan River Temple - and he made it very special for them with lots of words of wisdom. Thanks Carl & Courtney, Jason & Brooke, & Nathan & Lindsey for making the drive and taking the time off work to come to Utah! (Nathan had to go back early so wasn't in any of these pics)

Grandkids Galore!

Most of the family went to Utah for Nathan Speirs wedding except for Brandon and Alvhild - who we REALLY missed! We had fourteen of us staying with 92 y.o. Grandpa Dalton! It was so much fun! Brooke & family stayed with the McCoy parents who have settled in the SL valley.  We met up at Pam & Ben's for Sunday dinner - Pam is Wonder Woman! We had over 50 people there!! The next day we met at a park that had a splash pad- again tons of fun! We had dinner at Paul & JeVonne's awesome backyard with a fabulous talent show after. Here is the mother load of pictures!
